TIDE 101: Foundations of Bias and Inclusion in Academia
Understanding bias is an important first step toward making both individual and structural changes that support equity and inclusion in academic environments. This introductory session provides an overview of bias, how it develops, and how it may manifest in professional academic contexts such as research, teaching, and service.
The workshop draws on current research and offers examples relevant to universities, creating a shared foundation for further learning and practice. It is well suited for units beginning an EDI learning journey or as preparatory grounding for more advanced workshops.
